This article summarizes the competition to supply campaign funds to our representatives for the next election. It is hard to decide the worth of a good rat...but obviously it is a lot. A brief survey of my politically active friends revealed none had made any contributions for the next cycle yet.
Clearly, it is the big money interests that are getting their bids in early and often. They recognize that not only do they need get in on the ground floor, but they need to be positioned to "rebuy" in the event they are outbid.
Political porn is fascinating to watch, but those of us concerned about the future of the country, should stay focused on the corrupt tax and spend culture that is eating away at our republic. The reviled political process in which we participate is only a result of our failure to rein in the powers of our government.
It is hard to do, since almost everyone is snarfing up the government cheese. The Hedgehog believes that constitutionally driven tax reform is the only route to real change. Join the effort.
