Left unmentioned is Henry Paulson's (former Goldman CEO and Treasury Secretary) role in funnelling $20 billion to Goldman thru the AIG bailout. Don't forget that the same gang from Goldman and other powerful Wall Street interests is in charge in the Obama administration.
It is also useful to note that when the going got tough, the tough (Goldman and other investment banks) hollered "nuff" and became banks. This smooth manuever gave them direct access to the Fed window. We have no data on how much of the trillions from the Fed have wound up in Goldman's hands (don't bet on zero).
It is no wonder that we have a brewing tax revolt (or worse). The restless natives sense (correctly) that something is wrong. Tax reform that drives reform in spending is essential, and I believe that the Hedge Tax is the answer.
