This short article, posted by the Ludwig von Mises Institute, clearly illustrates the insidious allure of government largess. Voters will always demand more from government - always - unless one things is true: there is a clear linkage between government spending and the taxes people must pay. Without such a linkage, Socialism is the eventual outcome. With such a linkage, government will only deliver what its citizens are willing to pay for.
The Obama administration is planning to ramp up spending dramatically, and, as they tell us, the bottom 95% of taxpayers "won't see their taxes increase one dime" as a result.
OK, class, any guess as to how this is going to turn out?
